The Day Off Adventure Continues
First, let me start by saying I do not actually have the day off. So control your jealousy. Rather, I only worked an hour and a half this morning because I am set to be over my hours this week and I do not want to be. I am a 30-hour employee; I have a salary but no benefits. I have been pretty good about sticking to just 30 hours a week, and that's not because I'm a slacker who's not giving my work my all, but rather a strategic workplace move. If I work fulltime at a part-time salary, why would they ever make me fulltime? So, alas, I make myself only work 30 hours a week. Tomorrow is going to be a busy and long day, so my usual "leave early on Friday if I've worked too many hours" won't cut it tomorrow. Thus, I have the afternoon off.
I am supposed to be using the afternoon off to write a paper. Instead, I am doing everything BUT writing a paper. (To my credit, I did write an outline. But I'm not feeling it.) This means that I ended up finally putting my summer clothes in the storage unit under my condo, which is timely since it is now 20 degrees outside. It also means that I finally got around to putting up my new "Merry Christmas" door sign. Here's how that went, Mastercard style:
- glittery red "Merry Christmas" door sign: $1 at "If It's Paper" store closing sale.
- number of weeks said sign has been in my car: 3
- number of cuss words I said looking for my hammer: 6
- number of rips I made in the sign in the first 30 seconds of handling it: 1
- number of holes I put in my door: 2. Note that it was supposed to be 1. However, that "wow this hammering just got a lot easier" feeling was apparently due to the fact that I busted through the back of my door, so now there is a nail back on the inside of my condo door.
I'm feeling so MERRY!!!!!!!!! Not.
